Today's blog begins with a beautiful yet sad story. I ate the very last bean bag from Honduras.
This was a wonderful experience because it was so delicious but it was sad because I knew that it will be a very long time until I eat food from Honduras again.
Here you see a picture of the Baleada that I made with the bag of refried beans on the table behind it. Oh it was so good. Here Let me open it up to show you inside...

Voila! It's a beautiful array of sour cream, hot sauce, refried Honduran red beans, chunks of egg and cheese and sprinkled with parmasean cheese. All gathered with a handmade flour tortilla. Magnifique!!
Once upon a time there was a baby. He usually was a good baby. He would usually smile, and giggle and be happy. But today he was not going to be a good baby. Because today, he woke up from his nap too early. Much much too early!! In fact, he woke up 30 minutes TOO EARLY.

His mommy said, "why baby dear, what you need is a bottle. Surely this will make you smile."

And so he took the bottle....
But he didn't smile!!
Poor tired baby was just too sleepy. He was all grumpy faced.

In a very most distasteful face, he did push away his bottle.
And with a whine and a grunt he let mommy know that a regular bottle just would not do!
But luckily this baby had a wise daddy.

His daddy knew the baby well and knew that he liked sugars and butters. He decided to give peanut butter a try. .. would THIS make the baby happy?

Why yes! Oh yes, this just may work. Both mom and dad were hopeful. The baby drank and nearly smiled! Just look, I think he's happy, he may be happy...

The baby drank a big gulp, then he set the bottle down, and everyone help their breath...
would the baby finally smile? did it work? Is he happy?
The baby thought about it... and he thought some more...

But he did not give a true smile! No not yet, he needed to have some MORE.

And so, since his daddy loved him very much... He got some more. Hopefully THIS would be enough to make him happy. Isaac licked his lips and begant to drink down the peanut butter milk, YUM!

He drank and he drank, until it was all nearly gone, except for a little bit left on his lips.
Would he now be a happy baby?
----------NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!---------------

No no no NO! No it wasn't enough!
Poor sleepy baby wanted more more more MORE!
But knowing that this would all lead to sickness, the mommy and dad could not give him more.
So instead of a smile and instead of a frown, the poor sleepy baby gave a great howl.

So his mommy grabbed a wet clothe and she cleaned up the mess. She wiped off his hands and his lips and his cheeks.
And do you know what she did next?
Why she said, "Sleepy baby, I think you're too tired. And Now you're going straight back to bed!"

But the baby, so sad, did not like what he heard, so he turn to his daddy and with all the energy he could summon... He gave him a look that about said it all.
"oh please daddy, save me!! I don't want to go to bed! Just give me some more of that peanut butter milk, oh save me daddy SAVE ME!!"
But his intense plea was not enough, for his mom picked him up. And she put him to bed right away. The poor sleepy baby did not need more sweets. He needed some sleep and that was that.
So ... 30 minutes later...

That babe, that very same baby, Woke up happy! And can you believe it? he's finally happy and there is his smile!
THE END
